F: Does this only work with cherry tomato plants (is it too small for regular tomato plants)?
Q: I've tried growing a couple other plants in them besides the seeds that come in the packet. Both have worked but I will say the cherry tomato seeds definitely worked best - I think they're able to grow better in the compact space. Cool product and worth trying whatever you decide on!
F: Will this work in New York state in the winter? I'm worried we don't get enough sun.
Q: These are like any other plants in that they need light to thrive. In the darker, cooler, months it will be best to have supplemental grow light for this to flourish. If you choose to wait until Spring to grow it, then you will be totally fine with natural light. Hope this helps!
